This course is for anyone applying for a Florida Cosmetologist license, Nail Specialist or Facial Specialist, Full Specialist license type. Completion of a Board-Approved 4-Hour HIV/AIDs course is required to receive your Initial HIV/AIDS Certification.
Objective:
To prepare students to meet the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation mandated requirements to become a Licensed Cosmetologist within prerequisite required 4 CLOCK HOURS:
Course Overview:
- Modes of Transmission
- Communicable diseases
- Infection control procedures
- Prevention
- Appropriate attitudes dealing with clients who may have HIV, AIDS, and communicable diseases

- Students must be at least 16 years old to take to course.
- Students will attend and complete the 2 or 4 HOURS HIV/AIDS Certification workshop.
- Students will be evaluated for comprehension of the course requirement, with a 75% or better score.
- Students will be issued a certificate.
